A heat exchanger 5 with spaced plates 15, wherein at least two groups of plates may be distinguished, each group having a different spacing between adjacent plates. The plates are preferably parallel. The heat exchanger may comprise three groups of plates, wherein a first group 21 with plates having a first spacing d1 is arranged between two other groups 23a, 23b with plates having a second spacing d2. The groups of plates may be formed as separate modules which are assembled to provide the heat exchanger, the plates being of equal size. Alternatively, the groups of plates belong to a single, integral module and are formed by interposing smaller plates between larger plates, so that the area of the smaller plates corresponds to the group of plates with higher density, the remaining area of the larger plates corresponding to the group of plates with lower density. A heat recovery ventilation apparatus comprising such a heat exchanger is also claimed. The heat exchanger is preferably arranged in the apparatus housing so that a first group of plates is disposed opposite the inlet duct (9, fig. 1), whereas a second group of plates is disposed outwardly with respect to the inlet. |
