PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle and a control method for the same which determine whether to couple or release a power transmission connecting/disconnecting part by considering total energy efficiency.SOLUTION: A control unit of a hybrid vehicle derives maximum auxiliary power and maximum charge power of a capacitor and allows transition to engine direct-connection traveling when a virtual operation point of an internal combustion engine in the case where the maximum auxiliary power is supplied for a motor and a virtual operation point of the internal combustion engine in the case where the maximum charge power is charged for the capacitor are positioned in an area where energy efficiency becomes higher during the engine direct-connection travelling than during series traveling by the number of rotations of the internal combustion engine with respect to a request driving force during the engine direct-connection traveling. |
