Drawings to Specification: [Class 53] Each negative plate of a storage battery is enclosed in an envelope of microporous material such as microporous polyvinyl chloride described in Specification 565,022, [Group IV]. Spaces are left between the envelope and the edges and top of the plate for the escape of gas. The envelope may be ribbed on the outside and sheets of wood veneer may be placed inside the envelope and covering the faces of the plate. The envelope is made in two parts fitting one into the other longitudinally and cemented together, the plate lug projecting through an opening in the top of the envelope. The positive plates may be covered with glass wool. |
