The present invention relates to an image processing method capable of preventing distortion of an image in color gamut mapping. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the image processing method processes and provides first red, green, and blue (RGB) data to a display device which includes pixels composed of red, green, blue, and while sub pixels. The method includes: a step of receiving the first RGB data; a step of generating second RGB data and W (white) data by rendering the first RGB data; a step of converting the first RGB data to hue, saturation, and value (HSV) data based on color, chroma, and brightness; a step of acquiring RGB compensation data based on a pre-stored lookup table using the HSV data; a step of compensating the second RGB data using the RGB compensation data; and a step of outputting the compensated RGB data and the W data. |
