A liquid crystal display panel and a driving method thereof are provided. The liquid crystal display panel comprises a plurality of display units (4), and each display unit (4) comprises two adjacent pixel units (5a, 5b). The driving method comprises: receiving input video data; determining whether the input video data is in a plurality of video data sections of a predetermined skin color picture or not; if the input video data is in the video data sections of a certain predetermined skin color picture, obtaining corresponding high video data and low video data according to the input video data; providing the high video data for one of the two pixel units (5a, 5b), and providing the low video data for the other pixel unit of the two pixel units (5a, 5b). For the preset skin color picture, the liquid crystal display panel and driving method thereof can convert the input video data into the high video data and the low video data, so as to improve a large viewing angle effect of the liquid crystal display panel in a special picture section, and maintain the same resolution ratio and signals when other pictures are displayed. |
