A picture data transmission method and device are disclosed in the present invention. The picture data transmission method comprises that: a picture data transmission end recodes a first picture to be transmitted to obtain a second picture, wherein the file size of the second picture is less than the file size of the first picture, and the quality difference value between the second picture and the first picture is less than a preset threshold; and according to the quality values of the first picture and the second picture, the first picture and the second picture are alternatively transmitted to a picture data reception end. The present invention can perform data transmission for a small data size picture obtained by recoding the picture without affecting the picture quality, so that the network resources can be saved and the storage pressure can be reduced. |
