[Problem] To reduce the force pushing back thin plate pieces toward a punching hole while assuring necessary clamping force by a punch and receiving base for thin plate pieces during punching in a reverse holding device for a forward feed molding device. [Solution] A reverse holding device (6) for a forward feed molding device is characterized by being provided with: a receiving base (31) provided so as to be freely elevatable within a die (19) working cooperatively with a punch (9) during preliminary punching of an iron core thin plate (2) from hoop material and capable of pressing the iron core thin plate (2) toward the punch (9) during preliminary punching; an elevating motor (33) for elevating drive of the receiving base (31) via a support unit (32); and a controller (34) capable of varying the receiving base (31) position and pressing force on the iron core thin plate (2) by controlling the movement of the elevating motor (33).
