The disclosure of the present invention pertains to an image pickup device, an image pickup method, and a program that enable exposure control to be carried out for a non-Bayer array image pickup image, using an exposure control method for a Bayer array image pickup image. When carrying out Bayer processing on a RGBW pixel-array image pickup image, a level correction unit corrects the signal levels of the image pickup image so that the following become the same: a pre-level which is the signal level of the most sensitive white pixel of the image pickup image prior to Bayer processing thereof; and a post-level which is the signal level of a green pixel of an RGB image obtained by Bayer processing, the green pixel being used for exposure control of the Bayer array image. The disclosure of the present invention can be applied to, for example, an image pickup device. |
