A transflective liquid crystal display (10) comprises a first substrate (11), a second substrate (12), a first orientation layer (13), a second orientation layer (14) and a liquid crystal layer (15), and comprises a plurality of liquid crystal molecules (151), wherein the first substrate (11) and the second substrate (12) are divided into a transparent area (100) and a reflective area (200), and the first orientation layer (13) and the second orientation layer (14) are provided to have different orientation angles on the transparent area (100) and the reflective area (200), so that the liquid crystal molecules (151) corresponding to the transparent area (100) and the reflective area (200) have different pre-tilt angles, and so that the phase delay amount generated by light passing through the liquid crystal layer (15) corresponding to the transparent area (100) is equal to the the phase delay amount generated by the light passing through the liquid crystal layer (15) corresponding to the reflective area (200). Therefore, by using a simple method, transflective display is realized and process difficulty is simplified, and meanwhile, bad friction and dark-state light leakage are reduced. Further provided is a manufacturing method for the transflective liquid crystal display (10). |
