PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can detect abnormality in a flow channel that causes discharge failure.SOLUTION: Abnormality in an ink flow channel from a second ink tank to a suction pump is detected on the basis of a detection result of detection means, following implementation of: a first operation in which the suction pump is driven for a prescribed time in a state that ink in the second ink tank is a predetermined amount, so that the ink amount in the second ink tank is reduced; and a second operation in which an ink amount change in the second ink tank accompanying the first operation is detected for the detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
