1. A method for bone fixation comprising:
inserting a first screw into a first aperture of a plate to secure the plate to a vertebra; advancing the first screw to elastically deform a retention member formed in an opening of the plate, wherein the opening is in communication with the first aperture; elastically deforming the retention member from a rest position to a first toggled position; and advancing the first screw until the retention member elastically returns to the rest position.
