A bead wire adapted for the reinforcement of the bead area of rubber tires, wherein the bead wire has a diameter d ranging from 0.75mm to 2.50mm, and has a tensile strength ranging from 2950-440d to 3300-560d MPa, d being expressed in mm. The bead wire comprises following chemical components by mass％, C: 0.80 to 0.85％, Si: 0.15 to 0.35％, Mn: 0.60 to 0.90％, P: 0.025％or less, S: 0.025％or less, Cr: 0.25％or less, Ni: 0.20％or less, Cu: 0.20％or less, and a balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities. This high-strength bead wire has high elongation with simple steel composition. |
