PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet storage apparatus capable of aligning sheets in a correct posture to a predetermined reference position with relatively prompt operation.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: An aligning member for aligning a side edge of a sheet shifts for waiting to a waiting position spaced away from an aligning position on a tray in a sheet width direction and in a loading direction, respectively, and then aligns a sheet falling from a sheet discharge outlet to a predetermined position on the tray while shifting in the width direction. Further, the configuration will be described specifically. The apparatus includes: a sheet transport path having the sheet discharge outlet; a tray member having a sheet loading surface disposed with a step formed on the downstream side of the sheet discharge outlet; at least one aligning member disposed between the sheet discharge outlet and the tray member; a sheet engagement surface disposed in the aligning member and engaging with the sheet side edge; and shifting means for shifting the sheet engagement surface from the waiting position to the aligning position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
