PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily producing a nonwoven fabric which is bulky and can reduce the spreading of a liquid when used as a surface sheet of an absorbent article.SOLUTION: A method for producing a nonwoven fabric includes: a web producing step of producing a web which includes heat-fusible core-sheath type conjugate fibers having a shrinkage percentage of 0% or more at 80°C and an elongation percentage of 8% or more at 136°C; an embossing step of embossing the web produced in the web producing step; and an air-through step of blowing hot air on the embossed web after the embossing by an air-through method. Before the embossing, the heat-fusible core-sheath type conjugate fibers are heat-treated at a temperature equal to or higher than the glass transition point of a resin forming the core thereof and lower than a heat elongation initiation temperature, and thereby the heat-fusible core-sheath type conjugate fibers are shrunk. The blowing of hot air by the air-through method is performed at a temperature equal to or higher than the heat elongation initiation temperature of the heat-fusible core-sheath type conjugate fibers, and thereby the heat-fusible core-sheath type conjugate fibers are elongated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
