PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a catalyzer for the production of carbon nanotubes, which makes it possible to obtain high quality carbon nanotubes in high yield by CVD method, and such a catalyzer for the production of carbon nanotubes, and further provide a method for producing a carbon nanotubes-containing composition.SOLUTION: A catalyzer for the production of carbon nanotubes is produced by heating a magnesium hydroxide which supports at least one metal selected from a transition metal of group 8 to group 10 in the range of 300°C or more and 700°C or less under an inert gas atmosphere.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
