PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for preventing a transfer belt from being easily wrapped.SOLUTION: A transfer unit 100 comprises: an endless transfer belt 101 to which a toner image is transferred from an image carrier 4 carrying a toner image or which carries a record medium S on which a toner image is transferred; a transfer member 102 which presses an inner peripheral surface 101B of the transfer belt 101 so as to press an outer peripheral surface 101A of the transfer belt 101 against the image carrier 4, and transfers the toner image from the image carrier 4 toward the transfer belt 101 while an area J in contact with the transfer belt 101 and an area K in contact with the image carrier 4 in the transfer belt 101 are away from each other in a moving direction L of the transfer belt 101; and a pressing mechanism 103 for elastically pressing the transfer member 102 so as to press the transfer member 102 against the inner peripheral surface 101B of the transfer belt 101.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
