A thermoelectric generation unit 1 is provided with a cooling portion 3 disposed on a low-temperature side of a thermoelectric conversion element 2, and a heating portion 4 disposed on a high-temperature side to which heat medium vapor is supplied, and generates electricity using a temperature difference between the low-temperature side and the high-temperature side, wherein the heating portion 4 comprises a planar space member 4a disposed along a high-temperature side surface of the thermoelectric conversion element 2 and forming a planar space 40a inside, and a tubular member 4b having both opening end portions connected to spaced-apart positions of the planar space member 4a so as to form a tubular space 40b in communication with the planar space 40a, the tubular member being adapted to be heated externally by a high temperature fluid, the planar space 40a and the tubular space 40b forming a circulating route 40 via which the heat medium filled in the spaces 40a, 40b is circulated.
