The technology disclosed here relates to a method for refuelling a cryogenic pressure vessel of a motor vehicle and to a motor vehicle having a cryogenic pressure vessel. The motor vehicle comprises: a) a cryogenic pressure vessel 100 having an internal vessel 110 which stores a fluid, an external vessel 120 and heat insulation V which is arranged between the internal vessel 110 and the external vessel 120, at least in certain areas; and b) a controller 140, wherein the controller 140 is designed to interrupt refuelling of the motor vehicle if, in the case of damaged thermal insulation V, a lower fluid density limiting value DUB for the fluid in the internal vessel 110 is exceeded, wherein the lower fluid density limiting value DUB is lower than an upper fluid density limiting value DOB for the fluid in the internal vessel 110 in the case of refuelling of the internal vessel 110 with intact thermal insulation V. |
