[Class 46] A rotary filter comprises a number of double-walled concave vanes 1, closed at the ends, and each having a perforated wall 2, the interiors 3 of the vanes communicating with sector - shape compartmerits 4 of an outlet chamber 5. A mixture, e.g., of sand and water, is deposited in the channel 10 between the two uppermost vanes causing the filter to rotate in an anti-clockwise direction. After the position B is reached, water already in, and water draining into, the interior 3, flows past a partition 7 into a reservoir 8. At position C the sand is deposited into a conveyor container, and above the position D. water flows from the reservoir 8 through the wall 2 and cleans it. The angular momentum of the filter may be sufficient to drive the sand conveyer.. |
