PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device capable of reliably detecting a sheet being conveyed on a curved sheet conveying path at high speed, and to provide an image forming apparatus and an image reading apparatus.SOLUTION: A light reflective sensor is disposed at a curved sheet conveying path for passing a sheet to detect a passing sheet. The sensor is constituted by a light emitting unit 21 with an LED 20 and a light emitting lens 23 for collecting light from the LED 20 and irradiating the passing sheet S, and a light receiving unit 31 with a light receiving lens 33 for collecting light applied to the sheet S and reflected therefrom and a light receiving element 30 for receiving light collected by the light receiving lens 33. Accordingly, the light emitting unit 21 applies light toward the sheet S while being extended along a sheet conveying direction, and thereby the light applied to the sheet S and reflected therefrom can be directed toward the light receiving lens 33. |
