The present invention relates to a method for preparing water-dispersible polyurethane containing an epoxy group and water-dispersible polyurethane containing an epoxy group prepared by the method. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for preparing water-dispersible polyurethane containing an epoxy group capable of expressing excellent mechanical properties, water resistance, hydrolysis resistance, water stability, and adhesive strength (initial condition, heat-resisting adhesiveness), etc. and water-dispersible polyurethane containing an epoxy group prepared by the method, wherein the polyurethane containing an epoxy group is prepared by mixing polyol and an epoxy resin during a synthetic process of polyurethane unlike the typical process of simply blending polyurethane and an epoxy resin, and conducting alternate reaction of hydroxyl groups in polyol and the epoxy resin during polyurethane synthesis.
