PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for recovering metal capable of recovering metal from a substrate without using a solvent.SOLUTION: A metal layer 12B of a substrate is heated by high frequency induction heating using a high-frequency heating device. When the metal layer 12B is heated, for example, a joint surface side of a plate member 12A in contact with the metal layer 12B is partially melted, thereby diminishing joint strength between the plate member 12A and the metal layer 12B. A shearing force applicator 20 applies shearing force to the joint surface between the plate member 12A and the metal layer 12B. The shearing force separates the plate member 12A from the metal layer 12B, and the metal layer 12B is recovered as metal. Thus, metal is recovered from a substrate 12 without using a solvent. |
