PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a sliding member excellent in wear resistance and oxidation resistance.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a sliding material 10 includes the steps of: molding a base material 12 comprising a polymer material containing a radical scavenger; cleaning at least a part 16 of the surface of the base material 12 with a cleaning liquid; and fixing a polymer chain having a phosphorylcholine group to the part 16 of the surface after cleaning by graft bonding, to form a polymer membrane 30 on the part of the surface. In the step of forming the polymer membrane 30, at least the part of the surface is irradiated with ultraviolet light having intensity of 0.5 mW/cmor more in a state of being in contact with a polymerizable monomer having a phosphorylcholine group. |
