Polyvinyl chloride is plasticized by a compound having the formula there being at least three nuclei, X, X1 and X11 being halogens and R, R1 and R11 being alkyl radicals or hydrogen, and n being an integer. Trichloro - p - phenyl - ethyl - diphenylethane is specified. Other plasticizers such as tricresyl phosphate and p : p1 - dichlorodiphenylethane may be added.
