The present invention provides an apparatus and method for directory services. The apparatus comprises at least one of the following interfaces: directory services request interface for receiving directory services requests from other apparatus for directory services and generating a response; information configuration interface for interacting information with outside and perfecting an address mapping list; and peer coordination interface, comprising input part and output part, for exchanging information with other apparatus for directory services and perfecting the address mapping list. Hence, the functions of processing directory services requests, maintaining and synchronizing directory services information are achieved. |
