In a steering system, a first through-hole (66) is formed in a stationary bracket (23) secured to vehicle body. A second through-hole (67) is formed in a movable bracket (24) that is movable relative to the stationary bracket (23) in a prescribed direction (X1) at the time of a secondary collision. A pin (61) passed through both the first through-hole (66) and the second through-hole (67) breaks at a position between the first through-hole (66) and the second through-hole (67) at the time of the secondary collision, thereby allowing the movable bracket (24) to move relative to the stationary bracket (23). An under plate (80) attached to the movable bracket (24) closes the second through-hole (67) from below. |
