Flowable material applicator

An applicator 1 for a flowable material (10 figure 1) is disclosed. The applicator 1 comprises an applicator roller 2 arranged to apply the flowable material to a surface (S figure 1) and a regulator member 4. The regulator member is located such that flowable material applied to the applicator roller rotates past the regulator member before being applied to the surface. The regulator member is arranged to regulate the profile of the flowable material on the applicator roller as the applicator roller rotates. The regulator member may be a roller which may have a grooved surface. Also claimed is a method of applying flowable material and use of such an applicator and method in construction of aircraft.
