Security apparatus 20 for a handheld device 10 (e.g. phone, tablet) having at least two clamping elements 88, and clamping means 26 to draw the clamping elements together to clamp the device on at least two sides and prevent unauthorised removal or theft. Lugs 118 may overlap the front of the device and adjustably clamp the device to the apparatus, preferable by a pawl (104, fig. 6) and ratchet (126, fig. 2). The clamping elements may be tightened via hooks (38, fig. 9) extending into spiral groove (50, fig. 7) in scroll plate (44, fig. 9). A plug 64 may be secured with a pin (34, fig. 4) for attaching the apparatus to a cable 72. The scroll plate may be operated by a tool (132, fig. 16) having hex drive (136, fig 16) corresponding to apparatus hex drive (52, fig. 4). Also claimed is a tool for operating the device. |
