Provided is a head-mounted display with which, when a light-reducing member, which either blocks or reduces light from a vista before a user's eyes, is not used, retention along a lateral wall part of a case body is possible. A head-mounted display comprises: a case body which houses an image forming unit which forms an image and an optical assembly which is positioned such that the optical axis direction intersects the fore-aft direction of a user's eyes and guides the image toward the user's eyes; a partial transmission deflection member which is attached to an end edge part of the case body which is opposite the user's eyes, reflects the light of the image and guides same toward the user's eyes, and transmits light from a vista before the user's eyes; and a light-reducing member which overlaps with a surface of the partial transmission deflection member wherein the light of the vista before the user's eyes enters and either blocks or reduces the light of the vista before the user's eyes. The case body further comprises a guide unit which switches guiding the light-reducing member between a use position of being overlapped with the surface of the partial transmission deflection member wherein the light of the vista before the user's eyes enters, and a non-use position of being retained along a lateral wall part of the case body so as not to overlap with the surface wherein the light of the vista before the user's eyes enters. |
