A ventilator tubing counter balance 10 features attachment means, such as a hook 18, and biasing means such as a pulley arrangement 16. This allows for the weight of the ventilator tubing to be substantially negated. As such, a more accurate weight reading of a subject wearing the ventilator may be made, whilst the ventilator is still in place and in use. This may be particularly relevant to very small infants, in which weight is a significant guide as to the size of medication doses to be administered. The device may be used with incubators with integrated scales. |
