The present invention relates to a compound represented by chemical formula 1. The chemical formula 1 of the present invention contains a liquid crystal compound including cyclopropyl and has positive or negative dielectric anisotropy (Δε ), a desirable optical anisotropy (Δn) and clearing point (CP), and also is highly compatible with other liquid crystals at low temperatures, has a low rotating viscosity, and has excellent stability against UV rays and at high temperatures. Therefore, the compound of the present invention has a high utility value, is suitable for mixing with positive and negative liquid compounds, and can be used for passive and active matrix monitors. |
