The present specification generally relates to the field of providing energy and particularly discloses a system for providing energy from a geothermal source. The system is adapted to be efficient at low temperatures of the liquid extracted from the ground and comprises a borehole (100), a heat converting unit (200) and a power generating unit (300). The present invention also relates to a method for providing energy from a geothermal source.
