Provided is a capsule endoscope system, in which a capsule endoscope comprises: a first image capture unit and a second image capture unit; a transmission unit which time-division transmits intermittently obtained first and second captured images; a receiving unit which receives control signals from an external device; and a first control unit which, on the basis of the control signals which the receiving unit has received, controls the image capture actions of the first and second image capture units and the transmission actions of the transmitting unit. The external device further comprises: a display control unit which has a display unit display the received first and second captured images simultaneously with the receipt thereof; and a second control unit which, with one of the first and second captured images treated as images of interest and the other thereof as images of non-interest, in order to raise the frame rate of the images of interest above the frame rate of the images of non-interest, generates and transmits to the capsule endoscope the control signals to control the first and second image capture units and the transmission unit. |
