The present invention is related to a system and method for detecting the presence of infants in a vehicle for controlling and monitoring safety belts, which comprises an electric unit (ECU) and a sensing module mounted in each seat of the vehicle; and a mechanism electrically controlled in each clip of each seatbelt corresponding to the seats of the vehicle, which blocks and fastens the mechanism of the clip of the seatbelt corresponding to the infant seat.
