An image processing device includes a contrast adjusting part which estimates illumination light based on the brightness value of an input image signal, adjusts the brightness of the estimated illumination light, and estimates reflectance to generate a new brightness value; a color highlighting part which estimates illumination light based on the color value of the input image signal, and estimates reflectance to generate a new color value; and an output image signal generation part which generates an output image signal for displaying an image on a transparent display device based on the new brightness value and the new color value. So, an increase in the manufacturing cost of the transparent display can be prevented.
