Email message filtering at an email client includes: activating a hide rule to intercept incoming email messages in an email thread of multiple recipients; for each new email message in the email thread, carrying out text analysis to determine if the email message content includes a name or variation of a name; if the email message does include the name or variation of the name in the email message content, forwarding the email message to an inbox; and if the email message does not include the name or variation of the name in the email message content, forwarding the email message to a designated folder. For each new email message in the email conversation thread, the filter can check if the email client user recipient has moved from a cc field or bcc field to a to field in the new email message; and if so forward the email message to an inbox. |
