[Class 110(i)] In a submersible electrically driven centrifugal pump 9 of the type comprising an air bell 1 surmounting the driving motor 2, the motor and pump shafts 3, 8 are vertical and are connected by gearing which includes an idler gear 5. The gears run in an oil bath 10. An oil pump 11 and a waterring air exhauster 14 are included. In the submerged condition the air in the bell 1 circulates as shown by arrows 16. In the non-submerged condition air enters at 12 and leaves at 13. |
