<p>636,662. Hinges. HILLS & SONS, Ltd., F., and TURLEY, J. W. Jan. 1, 1945, No. 7. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group X] For the purpose of correcting sag of a door, the hinge members are relatively adjustable vertically, and the hinge may be adjustable horizontally with respect to the frame. In the form shown the hinge member a attached to the frame has two lugs c, d carrying a hinge pin e which is screwed into the lug c, and the hinge member h attached to the door has one lug h<SP>1</SP> slidable on the hinge pin and resting on the upper end of a sleeve f which is screwed into the hinge lug d, so as to be vertically adjustable, and is locked by a nut g. The member a has spigots j sliding in sockets on a plate k fixed in a recess in the door frame and is adjusted relatively to the plate k by a screw m which engages a nut n fixed to the plate and is locked by a nut m<SP>1</SP>. Another sleeve similar to f may be applied between the lugs c and h<SP>1</SP> to prevent lifting of the door. According to the Provisional Specification the sleeve f may be replaced by a collar rigid with the hinge pin e, which then rests on a screw inserted in the lower end of the lug d and has means for locking it in adjusted position.</p> |
