A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus and a method for generating a magnetic resonance image are disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: setting low energy mode; obtaining at least one description of a plurality of image filters based on the setting of the low energy mode; and generating a first magnetic resonance image based on the at least one description. Thus, as the low energy mode is set, a magnetic resonance image can be generated to reduce power consumption and/or a scanning time.
