The present invention relates to a multifunctional trash can, an automatic recycling apparatus comprising the same, and an operating method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a multifunctional trash can (100) comprises: a body unit (100) having a trash compression unit (120) on an upper part thereof, a plastic bag lower fixation unit (111) to draw and fixate a lower part of a plastic bag on a lower part thereof, fixating a primary plastic bag sealing unit (130) and a secondary plastic bag sealing unit (140) formed by a plurality of frames; the trash compression unit (120) installed in an upper part of the body unit (110) to compress trash accommodated inside a plastic bag downwards; the primary plastic bag sealing unit (130) installed to be able to rotate in the body unit (110), having a plastic bag upper part fixation unit (134) to draw and fixate an upper part of the plastic bag, and sealing the upper part of the plastic bag by twisting the upper part of the plastic bag; the secondary plastic bag sealing unit (140); and a control unit (150) installed in the body unit (110), having an operational switch (151) to receive a command from a user to control the trash compression unit (120), the primary plastic bag sealing unit (130), and the secondary plastic bag sealing unit (140). According to an embodiment of the present invention, the multifunctional trash is capable of easily accommodate, compress, and seal a large amount of trash.
