A computer telephone interface (CTI) workstation (AP) connects to an exchange/central office (V) for controlling telephone traffic to a stationary or radio network and makes a direct connection to a computer (PC) or via a network (N) to a CTI server (S) directly linked to the exchange. A mixed operation is performed with computer-aided processing and control of information transmitted via a telecommunications connection.
