In the present invention, there is disclosed a refractory glazing panel formed by at least two glass panes and a transparent refractory layer made of a hardened alkali metal polysilicate hydrate disposed therebetween wherein said hardened alkali metal polysilicate hydrate SiOi2 : Mi2O ratio is at least 3 : 1 (wherein M denotes at least one alkali metal) and the water content is in the range of 25 to 60 percent by weight, wherein at least one glass pane is provided on its surface, being in contact with the polysilicate layer, with a primary layer. This primary layer is made of wax or thermoplastic-based varnish wherein the wax or thermoplastic-based varnish has adhesion to the refractory layer that drops at a temperature equal to or greater than approximately 90 degC. When testing the behavior relative to fire, the glass pane exposed to fire separates completely from the refractory material and the refractory polysilicate shield remains intact even when the glass pane exposed to fire bursts into pieces and debris break away. |
