The present invention relates to an apparatus for correcting input coordinates of a touch screen and a correction method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for correcting input coordinates of a touch screen includes a touch recognition unit recognizing a contact shape and input coordinates of a touch input through the touch screen, a coordinate correction unit generating correction coordinates corresponding to the contact shape of the previous touch when a signal by a following touch having the same contact shape as that of a previous touch is input when a signal by the previous touch is wrongly input, and a storage unit storing the touch contact shapes and the correction coordinates. The coordinate correction unit corrects coordinates of a new touch with the correction coordinates having the touch contact shape corresponding to the touch contact shape of the new touch among the stored touch contact shapes when a signal by the new touch is input. As such, according to the present invention, use of the apparatus for correcting input coordinates of a touch screen and the correction method thereof may perform coordinate correction by touch contact shape and touch means according to touch input patterns of a user, thus minimizing the user′s inconvenience due to a wrongly input touch. Further, time and energy wasted by a wrong input of touch can be reduced, and the user′s emotional inconvenience can be prevented. |
