[Class 100(ii)] A cylinder printing-machine is constructed with a reciprocating bed 2 and a continuously rotating impression cylinder 8 formed with an impression surface 12, a sheet-transfer surface 13, and a surface 14 which is cut away to avoid contact with the printing-surface 1 on reversal of the bed. With the cylinder 8 coacts a transfer 11 with grippers 45 which take the printed sheet from the grippers 19 of the cylinder 8 and finally transfer it to the grippers 26 of the transfer surface 13 from which it is taken by grippers 24 of a delivery device 25. The grippers 19 are operated by a tumbler device 21 and pins 23, 22 at the sheettaking position adjacent the feed board F and adjacent to the transfer cylinder 11. The grippers 26 are operated by cams 30, 31. The cylinder 11 is driven by gears 17, 18 from the cylinder 8 and makes three revolutions for each one of the cylinder 8, but the shaft 33 on which the cylinder 11 is freely mounted is driven by an epicylic train of gears 38, 39a, 39b, 40, 41 so as to make one revolution for each revolution of the cylinder 8. A grooved cam 62 on shaft 33 causes a pair of cams 53, 54 to slide in a bracket 63 so as to move into and out of operative engagement with a roller 51, Fig. 6, not shown, on an arm of the gripper shaft 42, which is moved by the cams so as to cause the grippers to open at the correct times to take the printed sheet from the grippers 19 and deliver them to the grippers 26. |
