A method of and kit for treating a hemorrhage within a cavity are provided. The kit utilizes a formulation with at least one liquid phase, where the formulation forms a foam when disposed into the cavity. The kit also includes instructions for performing the method of applying a pressure to an interior boundary of the cavity, where the pressure has a transient peak value and at least one steady state value.
