The invention relates to a method for connecting two metal sheets (1, 2). In said method, a first metal sheet (1) is folded at an end segment and an end segment of a second metal sheet (2) is folded into the fold, and adhesive (4) is introduced into the joining region of the two metal sheets before or during the folding in and/or a sealant (6) is applied to the seam on the outside of the fold after the folding in. The method is characterised in that at least one of the metal sheets (1, 2) is a sandwich sheet, which comprises a metal base layer (1.1, 2.1) and a metal cover layer (1.2, 2.2), which are connected by an electrically insulating or poorly electrically conductive intermediate layer (1.3, 2.3), and that an electrically conductive adhesive (4) is used as the adhesive and/or an electrically conductive sealant (6) is used as a sealant. The invention further relates to a body part, in particular a door or flap, which comprises an outer metal sheet (1) and an inner metal sheet (2). The outer metal sheet (1) is folded at an end segment and at least one end segment of the inner metal sheet is folded into the fold. Adhesive is introduced into the fold and/or a sealant is applied to the seam on the outside of the fold. The body part is characterised in that the outer metal sheet (1) is a sandwich sheet, which comprises a metal base layer (1.1) and a metal cover layer (1.2) that are connected by an electrically insulating or poorly electrically conductive intermediate layer (1.3), and that the adhesive (4) is an electrically conductive adhesive and/or the sealant (6) is an electrically conductive sealant. With regard to cathodic electrocoating, the invention ensures reliable electrical contacting between the outside of the sandwich sheet and the second metal sheet in a simple and economical manner. |
