PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic polymer composition excellent in antibacterial performance and water absorption performance.SOLUTION: The hydrophilic polymer composition of the invention comprises: antibacterial fine particles in which, a hydrophobic antibacterial agent is adhered to a surface of each inorganic fine particle; and a hydrophilic polymer, in which the antibacterial fine particles are adhered to the surface of the hydrophilic polymer. Preferably, the surface of the hydrophilic polymer is partially exposed. The hydrophobic antibacterial agent is preferably, a substance expressed by the following formula (I), cetyl phosphoric acid benzalkonium, triclosan, or zinc pyrithione.
