Provided is an image conversion method that can represent on a display shades of a printed image to be obtained when an image is printed on paper. The image conversion method according to the present invention provided is provided with a step for acquiring an illumination light component and reflectance component from an input image, correcting the illumination light component such that the shades in the input image on a display approximate the shades of a printed image to be obtained when the input image is printed on paper by a printing mode by which the input image is to be printed according to the display brightness information of the printing mode, and obtaining a composite image by combining the illumination light component after the correction and the reflectance component or the reflectance component after correction. |
