Provided are a method for performing a device-to-device (D2D) operation using an exceptional resource by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, and a UE using the method. The method comprises performing D2D communication in one cell of a first cell havig a first frequency and a second cell having a second frequency, wherein the first cell is a serving cell of the UE, and whether the exceptional resource provided by the first cell can be used depends on in which cell of the first cell and the second cell the D2D communication is performed.
