A physiological monitoring system comprises a sensor device 1 attached to the skin 50 of a subject, the sensor device comprising at least a first sensor 12 for sensing a physiological parameter of the subject; and a processing device configured for analysing data sensed by the sensor by means of a predetermined algorithm to estimate whether the data is indicative of a disease condition, and on detecting such a condition to generate an alert. In embodiments the sensor may be an accelerometer or a temperature sensor. The system may be used to monitor sleep. In an embodiment, a method is included for monitoring multiple subjects, each using a physiological monitoring system, the method involves assessing whether there is a contemporaneous trend indicative of a disease condition between the subjects. |
